Former NYSE President Joins Greenplum Board

SAN MATEO, CA -- (March 31, 2008) -- Greenplum Inc., a developer of database technologies for data warehousing and business intelligence based on open-source software, has added Jerry Putnam, former president and co-chief operating officer of NYSE Group Inc. to its board of directors.

In addition to serving as president of NYSE, Putnam founded Archipelago Holdings Inc., an electronic exchange that merged with the New York Stock Exchange in 2006. Prior that, Putnam founded online broker-dealer Terra Nova Financial LLC and held positions at several financial firms.

Based in San Mateo, Calif., Greenplum has raised $68 million in venture capital since its founding in 2000 under the name Metapa Inc. Its investors include Meritech Capital Partners, SAP Ventures, Sun Microsystems Inc., Dawntreader Ventures, EDF Ventures, Hudson Ventures, Mission Ventures and Sierra Ventures.
